Wild Weather

This week we are learning about extreme weather. Please find one article, photo, or video clip about extreme weather that has occured in the United States over the past two years.
You will need to post your research by Fri. Oct. 17th. You will also need to write a 4-5 sentence summary about your example and one question you have.
See example below:

This photograph shows Houston area ranchers evacuating their cattle to protect them from the flooding of Hurricane Ike. On the morning of September 13, 2008, the eye of Hurricane Ike approached the Texas coast near Galveston Bay, making landfall at 2:10 a.m. CDT over the east end of Galveston Island. People in low-lying areas who had not heeded evacuation orders, in single-family one- or two-story homes, were warned by the weather service to evacuate immediately.

My question is: Where were these animals evacuated to? What other preparations do ranchers and farmers have to do to prepare for hurricanes in the Gulf Coastal Region of Texas?

Oobleck: Cornstarch Goo (Steve Spangler)

Fourth grade scientists hard at work discovering the properties of Oobleck. Is it a liquid? Is it a solid? Hmm.

This year in science we will study matter, weather, fossils, soil, non-living systems, ecosystems, adaptations, and inherited traits.
